Gianfranco Zola leaves Chelsea

Gianfranco Zola has left Chelsea after spending the whole of last season with Maurizio sarri as assistant coach.

The Blues legend played an important role in assisting his compatriot to adapt to English football and Chelsea.

He was one of the club’s greatest players of all-time and was voted Chelsea Player of the Year on two occasions.

The former Italy international is best remembered for his the strike which secured the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1998 against Stuttgart, just seconds after coming off the bench.
